Kate Marshall

As Chief Legal Officer, Kate collaborates closely with our lawyers across all practice groups to deliver the unique experience of partnering with Law Squared to our clients.

In this executive role, Kate channels her passion for developing innovative offerings that clients value, creating diverse teams, fostering growth and development, and influencing the strategic direction of the business. Her interest and experience in emerging technologies allows her to explore new ways to deliver legal services that enhance outcomes for our clients and our legal teams.

With over 25 years of legal partnership and executive experience, including KPMG, K&L Gates, and Clayton Utz, Kate brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the dynamic and innovative environment at Law Squared. Her experience encompasses leading a legal business, managing P&Ls, leading teams, and delivering high-quality legal work.

Kate’s specialist expertise spans cyber, data and privacy, IT procurement and outsourcing, digital transformation, AI and emerging technologies, data ethics, global privacy management, cyber and data breach response, IP management, and commercialization.

Her extensive experience in these areas significantly enhances Law Squared’s capability to support clients in managing cybersecurity risks, preparing for and responding to data breaches, and making sense and leveraging the increasing amounts of data collected by organisations for positive impact. Additionally, Kate’s deep experience in helping clients derive value from their IP, alliances, joint ventures, and technology projects adds substantial strength to our corporate and commercial team.
