Community Champions

Our community champions program follows the lives of legal ops leaders leading the charge and the change in their organizations, hearing, in their words, what they are practising, what change they are making and what they are thinking about.

We explore the following themes with our champions:

Megan Lutes

Seattle-based Megan Lutes is the General Counsel and Chief Human Resources Officer for Glowforge. She founded Diversity University, which aims to elevate women and minorities in the workplace. Lutes has a diverse industry background, having worked in fast-paced start-ups and Fortune 500 companies.

Alex Petrie

Alex Petrie’s bread and butter are the infrastructure and property industries. As the Senior Legal Counsel at James Hardie Building Products APAC, Petrie is passionate about process improvement for both the legal team and the business.

Asim Khan

Asim Kahn is the Senior Legal Counsel (EMEA and North America) and Legal Operations lead at Iress. Based in Gloucester, England, Khan is big on tech and harnessing it to make in-house counsel more effective and efficient. He believes the legal function is a value-adder, not a cost-center.

Dr Pier Luigi M Lucatuorto

Pier Luigi M. Lucatuorto is driven by legal-tech innovation, with a PhD in IT Law. He is the GC, Corporate Secretary, and Supervisory Board Member at Modula S.p.A, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of automated storage and warehousing systems.

Stephen Drysdale

Stephen Drysdale is our only private practice champion working for LegalVision. He formerly was the lead in-house counsel at Zuru Group, a billion-dollar Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) company. Drysdale has experience working across time zones and markets, managing a team across Hong Kong and New Zealand and is passionate about learning everything he can to develop his legal career.

Seshani Bala

Seshani Bala loves people; they give her energy. She sees her role as GC of KPMG New Zealand as a vehicle to help people solve problems. Currently based in Auckland, Bala has lived and worked around the globe and held many GC and legal roles.

Bobbie Travis

Living in the San Francisco Bay Area, Bobbie Travis is a Legal Operations Manager and handles Compliance, Ethics & Risk at Splunk. She is a leader in the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion space and believes in the power of emotional and cultural awareness to create great professional relationships.

Adam Wardel

Adam Wardel believes in-house lawyers should seek to grow their business just as much as they protect it, becoming strategic and trusted advisors. He is the Chief Legal Officer of nClouds and has board advisory roles in a variety of industries. You’ll find Wardel in Salt Lake City.

Lauren Zajac

A tech enthusiast and legal leader, Boston-born, Massachusetts-based Lauren Zajac is the Chief Legal Officer, Data Protection Officer, and Corporate Secretary of Workhuman. Zajac has held multiple GC roles in the tech world and has a cornucopia of industry-specific legal knowledge.
